Morning & Nighttime Skincare Routine
Today, I wanted to share my morning and nighttime skincare routine. If you have been following me for a while, you know that I have sensitive and acne prone skin mainly from eating unhealthy foods, stress/anxiety and then of course, the random zit you get when you start your period. I've struggled to find products that HELP my skin and have been doing a lot of trials with difference skincare products affordable and expensive.
Before I get more into this, I first want to mention that my entire skincare journey would not be the same without Nikki (@nikki_r_faceit). For those of you who don't know, Nikki is my esthetician and she has helped to get my skin back to where it should be. At the beginning of this year, my face broke out really really bad and it happened for weeks on end. I had no idea what was causing these breakouts, but Nikki helped with facials that work from the inside out - not just a surface level facial. She also gave me DMK products that also worked from the inside out. Sadly, I ran out during mandatory quarantine and could not replenish. During that time, I bought a few products that I wanted to try when Sephora was doing their huge sale and have used those products since the end of April.
I wanted to really use and try out these products for a good month before I told you what I recommended or not. With my skin being so sensitive, I knew in a month if I was going to love these products or not. There are some products that I have multiple of and that just means I use all for different circumstances and I would recommend all.
SO let's get to it!

Every morning, I wash my face with the lightweight Fresh cleanser. It makes my skin feel so fresh and clean. It has a makeup remover component which I love.
After, I follow with my Thayers Rose Petal Toner - I bought this from Target a while ago and have used it twice a day since. If you don't like a floral/rose smell, they have other scents as well. This toner is a drugstore product and it is amazing!
Next, I use my Summer Friday's Vitamin C serum. It is important to use a vitamin C product in your skincare routine. It helps brighten, hydrate, reduce redness, fade hyperpigmentation. I use it every morning to help brighten my skin and makeup!
Last 3 products I use in my routine are my favorite Tula products ever. I use the Tula rose glow & get it eye balm. I always get questions about the color difference between the rose glow and the original. I have a more warmer tone in my skin, so the pink one one matches better while the blue one is more of a cool tone.
I apply the Tula sunscreen next and I love their new sunscreen they came out with. It's great layered with your makeup and it applies a pretty glow on your face while still protecting you from the sun.
Lastly, I apply the Tula primer. This product has been a game changer. It comes out normal, but then smooths and blurs imperfections and colors to your skin tone. I love it. I've been using it since the day they launched it!
You can use code COFFEY for 15% off any Tula products.

Ok, so my nighttime routine is a little more complex. There are multiple products I switch out depending on the current skin situation.
No matter what products I use, I always start out with the Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Remover. Yes - it is an extra step in your nighttime routine, but when I say it takes all the makeup off your face, it literally takes everything off even mascara and eyeliner. It's amazing! If you buy one thing - buy this.
There are 3 face washes that I normally switch out. The Glycolic Acid Facial Cleanser, but it does have beads in it (exfoliator) and I don't like to use it every single night so I will use it like 3x a week. When I don't use the Glycolic Acid one, I use the Fresh one that I use every morning and then if my skin is acting up and I have acne flare ups, I'll use the Tula acne wash.
Once my face is clean, I use the Thayers toner again to tone my skin. I explain more about this product above.
I follow with the Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos™ Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum. I was a little nervous about this product after reading the reviews but I haven't had any negative side effects personally. I really like this product after using it for an entire month!
Eye cream is the next step and I started using the Colleen Rothschild eye cream and it is bomb, you guys!!!! I actually bought the Ole Henrikson banana cream one from Sephora and then got the CR one in a PR package and have used it for a few weeks and love it even more than the OH one.
Okay so this next product was a total whim purchase! I saw that it helped dark spots and you guys know with my acne scarring, I have a lot of darker spots on my skin. So I purchased the Kiehl's Clearly Corrective™ Dark Spot Solution and my dark spots have seriously faded so much. Yes - they are still there but they are slowly fading away and I would totally recommend this product if you suffer from the same problem.
Moisturizers are next! I usually use the Drunk Elephant Protini™ Polypeptide Moisturizer every night or the Colleen Rothschild Extreme Recovery Cream if I've been in the sun a lot and my skin feels very dry. This CR moisturizer is my go-to during the winter when dryer skin is more normal. I use the Tula Oil-Free Acne Moisturizer when I use the Acne wash from Tula when my skin is acting up. This also helps reduce redness and hyper-pigmentation.
I cannot forget about the Laneige lip mask I use nightly. It is a lifesaver. If you suffer from dry lips, this will be your best friend. I have recommended it for years.
I also share the different masks I use on a weekly basis - I usually switch them out depending on if I have any certain needs that I want to fix. The Colleen Rothschild Intense Hydrating Mask I would say I use most often since I do struggle with dry skin. The Farmacy Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask is an amazing mask as well as the Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial™ 25% AHA + 2% BHA Mask followed by the Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Antioxidant Face Oil. They are more of a harsher mask - so definitely read the description/reviews before purchasing.
Last but not least, how to get rid of zits! My number one product is ZitStickas, they are legit the best. You will not find anything better, promise. I've tried them all. BUT they are a bit expensive, so if you don't want to spend that kind of money on a product, the amazon ones are definitely good. I use them when I have a zit but it's not THAT bad, and I don't want to waste a ZitSticka. Also, the Mario Badescu drying lotion is a great product as well. Cannot go wrong with that!
I hope this was helpful! I have recently gotten so much feedback about how good my skin has been looking and while sometimes, I really don't feel the same, I appreciate the kind words. It's a daily struggle, but one I have finally learned how to control. :) XO
